Is andybody as excited as me about the June 15th release
of Drake's debut album Thank Me Later? From his first
mixtape Room For improvement, i've been Drake's biggest
fan. To me Drake brings something original to the Hip-Hop
world. Something fresh that had been missing for a minute.
Now by no means am i saying he's the best, but I am saying
when i get word of a new drake song..I get excited. Even my
favorite rapper HOV hadn't been doing that for me lately.
Maybe its because Drake is so new and still has so much to do
and Jigga has pretty much done it all. But when I see Wayne
and Drake on a track, i'm looking forward to Drake's verse.
Even if he can't freestlye the man is still lyrically bringing
something special to the table. In a industry that since about
2000 most of the popular rappers were ok but sold. And the
more underground rappers were great but didn't sell. But
now your seeing a trend of popular good rappers getting their
notoriety. So you can say people sice Drake, you can claim he's
not that good but at the end of the day i rather him be in that
position then how ja-rule was or Nelly, or have somebody as
wack and popular and Wacka Floka or Soulja boy all over my
radio. Point is I believe in the guy and i agree "A million copies
isn't really far fetched", not for him at least. If Da brat can Sell
a million copies, why can't Drake?

I remember hearing Nicki Minaj for the first time.
I was about 15, and I had just got dumped. I remember
I had been listening to a lot of lil Kim lately. It was like
she felt my pain lol. I mean she had this whole Big Pimpin
niggas thig about her. I liked that. I mean I was 15! I was
thinking like "Okay! You broke up with me? Cool. But ima
get cuter, ima dress flyer, your gonna want me back but i
won't give a fuck, ima play you and your mans now". I mean
this didn't toatally work cuz I was too nice to play a nigga
but anyway Lil Kim was doing it for me. I would listen to
Aunt Dot over and over and over. But in the mists of
downloading lil Kim albums I can across a Nicki Minaj
mixtape, Playtime is Over, After listening to it once I
was hooked on Nicki. She had the same street edge Kim
had, but it wasn't as much "Nigga ima cum or your dick"
type shit. Like Nicki did the nasty shit but it wasn't as OC.
lol. Plus Nicki was more relevant to me. Okay my point is
Nicki use to be the shit to me. Lyrically she was tuff.
Yeah her voice was weird but it was more subtle. She was
actually good, but now smh. She's gotten so commercial
even if you compare he last mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty
to her second Sucker Free which was the best lyrically,
you can see her style changing into the nonsense that it
now. Like Massive attack..wtf is that. I don't even wanna
hear her shit lately and that bothers me cuz I use to love
her! I mean this change happened in months, this whole
barbie bs. Got gay men tatting barbie on their chest true
story. I'm loosing my love for her smh.
